I just recently received my first tatoo a week ago and it is of a single long stem red rose that was custom done and it is placed on my left breast so that is shows just above the neckline. I have not had any real problems with it other than I noticed that there is “hole” in the center almost as if it was a blister that has popped. I have been pretty much leaving it alone other than Neopsorin for the first 3 days and lotion twice a day. The rest of it appears to be fine and has gotten to the whitish looking state (which I hope will brighten up again). But this “hole” kind of concerns me as I dont want any scars. I have been very careful not to let it rub against my bra and of course I have not picked at it. Any idea as to what may have caused this and should I use Neosporin to decrease the chance of a scar?
The hole could be anything. Sometimes an artist will miss a spot in “inking” and touch up has to be done. The whitish look is your skin sluffing off the scab. You should never have a scar from a tatoo. The biggest problem is people picking at the tatoo. Scabbing is a normal body reaction for healing and when the “ink” is healing, the dye will come out with the scab if picked at. If your tatoo artist is aware of his responsibility in giving you quality art, they will touch up for you at no charge.
