TATOOS

I am looking for an arm band tatoo that has a sun at the center, but this is not an ordinary sun. It will have humanistic qualities eyes, nose, and mouth, but it will lack detail and the expression will be more stoic than anything else. And instead of natural eyes, the pupil will be replaced with question marks. The flames radiating out from all directions will be darker but as the stretch around the arm they will dither and fade until they are just an outline when both sides meet. The only color I want is black.

The meaning of it all: The sun represents the beginning of everything we know but yet it is one star we know very little about, especially the end. The question marks for pupils symbolize doubt, and how we should not trust our senses when we wish to attain true knowledge. The flames are thicker and bolder around the sun because they are full all the imperfections which need to be filtered out by reason, that which separates man from beast.

I am very interested in getting a tatoo now, I’m not looking for something that is too flashing just something simple and feminine. I was thinking about something to do with a Japanese/Chinese symbol for eternity but with something around it to go on the ankle or something that will go all the way around my ankle something like flowers. But I am looking for something more traditional or original like Indian symbols.

I want something maybe a little bit bigger than the size of a half dollar. I play volleyball so I need to have it done so that it can’t be seen on the court (or by my parents). I’ve had several ideas but they seem too traditional. I don’t want anything cheesy, but I also do want anything gruesome. I have always wanted some type of tribal band around my wrist, but tribal bands have become too trendy.

I am thinking of a tatoo design, similar to the sea elephant in style but in at Celtic style, and of the shape of a knife.
